Located on the beautiful and scenic North Oregon
Coast, the Tillamook County Quilt Trail showcases the great
heritage of historic barns and buildings in Tillamook County. This self-guided tour
showcases each
structure with a large painted wooden quilt block. Plus we strive to share the
history of dairy farms and quilts for
visitors to celebrate the unique rural heritage that is Tillamook County.
The Tillamook County Quilt Trail (TCQT) is represented in the month of February in a calendar entitled "The American Quilt Trail 2012." The photos are compiled by Suzi Parron, the author of Barn Quilts and the American Quilt Trail Movement.
Dean and Patti Tohl's dairy barn is featured, showing the quilt block entitled Mt. Hood, with a view of the Coast Range in the background.
If you would like to purchase a calendar, they are available at the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum, the Tillamook Area Chamber of Commerce, 2nd St. Public Market and Latimer Quilt and Textile Center.
The quilt trail will be featured in two books this year as well, along with quilt trails across the nation.
The TCQT is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. Proceeds from the sale of the calendar will go towards sustaining and expanding the quilt trail.
